2009 is the year I fully commit myself to blogs as marketing tools. I had made my mind to focus on small business blogging already as a new year’s goal, but then was delighted to find proof that even though I haven’t paid attention to blogging like I should the last few months, as I’ve become too focused on my role as a Seattle copywriter.
Looking at my blog analytics, I found out Matthew Bandyk of U.S. News and World Reports blogged on my blog, with very nice things to say about a post I did on small business blogging. It was only a brief mention, but it drove traffic to my blog, and that is the goal of using blogs as marketing tools: driving traffic. And this is marketing like dating because people will talk. Rumors will fly, gossip will be spread. What you do and say will be talked about, whether you’re dating or marketing. Make sure people have good things to say…and blog about.
