Why this marketing blog?

Sporting my first ever henna tattoo at a summer carnival. Why this blog? Because I'm your customer's advocate, reminding businesses that they must talk to customers, not at them, to get heard. This blog is my means of putting helpful advice, tips and reminders out into the world so your marketing will be more relevant, more targeted...and more likely to get noticed. Happy Marketing!

I couldn't agree more with your latest blog! Stories are great...lies not so much! As a fellow marketing writer, I know the power of telling a good story. Heck I even call myself a 'business storyteller' because every company has a story to tell. But to cross that line from story to lie can be costly. In this day and age, consumers don't just look at your product or service. They want to know what goes on behind the scenes, how you treat employees, what charities you support, do you give back to your community, etc. Finding out a company lied to the consumers, misled them about their image...needless to say it would cost the company many customers. Is it really worth it? I think not! So, here's the question that comes to mind for me after reading your blog. Who is more at fault? The company behind the lie or the marketers who came up with and sold the idea (or at minimum put it into action)? I know who'll get the blame, but who bears the burden of the lie?
